A photo contest for Waynesburg University students

Grab your camera (yes, the one on your phone counts) and help us capture Greene County. During the month of April 2022, two photo contest sessions will be held with three categories each. Participants can submit photos here for a chance to win gift cards! Whether you’ve called Greene County home for your whole life or just moved here to cop a degree, take this as an opportunity to explore your community and put your artistic style to the test.

Session 1: Friday, April 1 – Thursday, April 14

Categories and Explanations:

(These are simply suggestions so get as creative as you want!)

1. High Street

Show us your best interpretation of life on High Street. Focus in on a shop, piece of architecture, or get a wider view. Be as creative as possible!

2. Green in Greene County

This is truly as broad as it sounds! Find something green or stage something creative!

3. Spring on Campus at Waynesburg University

Capture the feeling of spring on campus whether it be through nature, student life, or whatever other creative idea you can come up with!

Session 2: Friday, April 15 – Thursday, April 28

Categories and Explanations:

(These are simply suggestions so get as creative as you want!)

1. Trails and Parks

Explore the several trails and parks in Greene County such as the Greene River Trail, Mason-Dixon Historical Park, Ryerson Station State Park, Warrior Trail and more!

2. Restaurants and Shops

Visit a small, local business in Greene County. Try your hand at food photography, feature a shop owner or employee (with their permission of course), or just capture the atmosphere. 

3. Portraits (of yourself or others)

Visit somewhere you’ve never been before, capture a beautiful view or something fun to do. Just make sure you have the subject’s permission before taking their photo!

How to Enter:

1. Take a photo that fits within any of the three categories per session. Unlimited entries per session and category are allowed.
2. Submit your photo(s) within each sessions specified dates using the attached form. Be sure to include your name, email, Instagram/Twitter/Facebook handle(s) and a title for your piece.
3. One winner will be chosen per category during each session and will receive a $25 gift card of their choice. Winners will be contacted via email. (see Contest Terms and Official Rules below for prize details).

Winners will be judged based on creativity, ability to capture the respective category, quality of the photo, and ability to abide by the contest terms and rules. Unlimited entries are allowed, but only one winner per category will be chosen each session. Winners will be featured on Visit Greene’s social media platforms.

By submitting an entry to this contest, the entrant agrees to his/her full and unconditional agreement to, and acceptance of, (a) these Official Rules and (b) the Sponsor’s (Greene County Tourist and Promotion Agency) decisions, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth in these Official Rules.
