In 1967, the Waynesburg Lions Club agreed to assume ownership and responsibility for the community park that was established by the Waynesburg Jaycees from a gift of land donated by Dr. and Mrs. Grover C Powell. The park was expanded over the years by additional land gifts from Dr. and Mrs. Powell. Today, the park features a playground, ball field and pavilions available for summer rental for reunions and other community events.
In the summer the Lions Club sponsors a music program called “The Sounds of Summer”. Every Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., a different musical concert is held at the Lions Club Park.
There is a parking lot on site and there are public bathrooms.
