A new Greene County Heritage Tourism Grant Program has been launched to support programs, events, and initiatives that celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States while strengthening Greene County’s appeal as a tourism and travel destination.
America’s 250th anniversary is a once-in-a-generation opportunity. This program encourages local organizations and businesses to create experiences that honor our past while inviting visitors to discover everything Greene County has to offer.
Program Highlights
- Open to nonprofits, municipalities, and for-profit businesses serving Greene County
- Supports visitor-focused projects that showcase local heritage, engage the community, and attract travelers
- Grant awards range from $250 to $2,500
- Eligible projects should highlight Greene County’s history, culture, and unique destinations
Program Requirements
- Projects must have a clear tourism focus
- A 25% local match is required (cash and/or in-kind contributions)
Important Dates
- Application deadline: 1 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026
- Award notifications: by Thursday, March 12, 2026
- Project completion deadline: December 31, 2026
Local organizations with ideas that celebrate history, build community pride, and drive visitation are encouraged to apply.
