The countdown is on! The 2026 Greene County Fair returns August 9th through the 15th at the Greene County Fairgrounds in Waynesburg, bringing seven days of unforgettable fun, delicious food, thrilling entertainment, and hometown tradition. Whether you are coming for heart-pounding grandstand events, the smell of fresh funnel cakes, the bright lights of the carnival, or to cheer on local exhibitors, the Greene County Fair has something for everyone. It’s one of Greene County’s biggest traditions, and once you experience it, you will understand why so many families return year after year!

For more than 150 years, the Greene County Fair has celebrated the county’s heritage while creating memories for generations of families. Agriculture remains at the heart of the fair, with local farmers, gardeners, bakers, crafters, and exhibitors showcasing their talents alongside 4-H and FFA members. From award-winning livestock and homemade pies to beautiful quilts and garden vegetables, the exhibits highlight the hard work and creativity that make Greene County unique.

As the sun begins to set and the lights around the fairgrounds come alive, the grandstand becomes the place everyone wants to be. Cheer on the competitors during the new Live Wrestling with Ryse Pro Wrestling on Wednesday, August 12. Experience the excitement of the Redeye Rodeo with Dave “Showtime” Meyer on Tuesday, August 11, watch drivers test the strength of their machines during the truck and tractor pulls on Thursday, August 13 and Saturday, August 15, and don’t miss the action-packed demolition derby on Friday, August 14, where cars crash and battle it out until only one remains. These crowd-favorite grandstand events are a big part of what makes the Greene County Fair an unforgettable summer tradition that keeps families coming back year after year.

No trip to the fair is complete without exploring the carnival. From exciting rides and classic midway games to all your favorite fair foods, there’s no shortage of fun. Grab a warm funnel cake, fresh-cut fries, barbecue, or a refreshing lemonade before hopping on the Ferris wheel and taking in the bright lights across the fairgrounds.

The Pennsylvania Fair theme, “Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom, Family & PA Fairs,” honors America’s 250th anniversary, and the Greene County Fair is joining the celebration with a special exhibit from the Greene County Historical Society. The exhibit features Greene County’s Bells Across PA bell, Coal & Country, painted by local artist Danielle Nyland. The design showcases Greene County’s rolling hills, rich agricultural heritage, and industrial roots, serving as a tribute to both the land and the hardworking people who have shaped our community and its history.

Don’t miss Kid’s Night on Monday, August 10 – it is packed with family-friendly fun! Enjoy children’s activities, amusement rides, the Barnyard Petting Zoo, and the Sky Circus. Then cheer on your favorite characters during the Mascot Mayhem Parade & Games, where regional mascots compete for bragging rights in hilarious challenges, wacky races, and interactive games that are sure to entertain the whole family.
