America Mondays
Celebrate history, community, and creativity during America Mondays at the Flenniken Public Library, held every Monday from June 22 through July 27.
This weekly summer series offers a full afternoon of family-friendly activities centered around American history, storytelling, food, movies, and patriotic crafts. Beginning at 11:00 AM, guests can enjoy Movie Mondays featuring classic films inspired by important moments and stories from American history, with weekly movie titles announced on the library’s Facebook page.
At 12:30 PM, visitors are invited to gather for an American Lunch featuring hot dogs and chips before continuing the afternoon with educational presentations at 1:30 PM. Guest speakers throughout the series will explore different topics and time periods from United States history, beginning with Alan Irvine sharing traditional American folktales during the kickoff program. The day concludes at 3:00 PM with hands-on patriotic craft activities where participants can create suncatchers, windchimes, magnets, and other themed projects. America Mondays provides a fun and engaging way for all ages to learn about the nation’s history while enjoying summer activities at the library.
