Join park staff and volunteers for a hands-on Bluebird Box Monitoring program at Ryerson Station State Park on Saturday, June 6 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Participants will meet at the Park Office at 361 Bristoria Rd. before heading out to learn how the park’s Cavity Nesting Volunteers monitor and track the number of birds that successfully fledge each year. Guests will visit and check approximately 20 nesting boxes throughout the park while learning about bluebirds and other cavity-nesting species.

The program includes short hikes of around 100 yards between most boxes, totaling about one mile overall. Park educators and volunteers will guide the experience and share insights into the dedication and weekly effort involved in monitoring the nesting program.
