Experience one of nature’s most magical summer displays during a Firefly Program at Ryerson Station State Park on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Participants will meet in the field behind the campground showerhouse at 217 McNay Ridge Rd. to learn about Pennsylvania’s state insect, the firefly, and discover what causes these fascinating insects to glow. The program will explore the different species found in Pennsylvania and the unique flashing patterns they use to communicate.

As dusk settles over the campground, visitors will have the opportunity to watch fireflies illuminate the evening sky, creating a memorable summer experience for nature lovers of all ages.
