Nine young women from across Greene County will take the stage for the 47th annual Miss Rain Day Scholarship Pageant, proudly sponsored by Rain Day Scholarship Inc. The event will be held on Sunday, July 27, beginning at 4pm at the Waynesburg Central High School Auditorium.
As we look forward to the thrills, the entertainment, the delicious fair food and the many contests and exhibitions, what makes the Greene County Fair truly stand out is the passion and determination of the adolescents who work all year long with their respective animals for the 4-H shows and sales.
A remarkable day in Waynesburg History, Rain Day has come around again on July 29th! With fun activities, good eats, and competition. From pageants to umbrella contests, one thing has remained the same, the annual Rain Day Hat Bet.
The Harvest Festival has long been a treasured tradition in Greene County since the museum open its doors in 1971, and those who attend this event while visiting this beautiful part of southwestern Pennsylvania will be treated to a full slate of appealing attractions, such as encampments with reenactors and skirmishes, Native American reenactors, demonstrations, entertainment, retail and food vendors and much, much more.

For two fun-filled days, Lippencott Alpacas will open up its beautiful and spacious farm located on Meadowbrook Road in Waynesburg to the public for a free open house where visitors will be able to discover everything about alpacas.
Rain Day is special not just because it has been a tradition for more than a century and a half, but also because it is an event where people throughout the county and even around the globe hope for rain to fall in Waynesburg.
