Meet the 2025 Miss Rain Day Contestants
Nine young women from across Greene County will take the stage for the 47th annual Miss Rain Day Scholarship Pageant, proudly sponsored by Rain Day Scholarship Inc. The event will be held on Sunday, July 27, beginning at 4pm at the Waynesburg Central High School Auditorium.
Admission tickets are priced at $13 and are available exclusively online at cur8.com. For those who wish to watch from home, livestream tickets can be purchased for $25, also at cur8.com.
Contestants will be judged on the basis of personal interview, sportswear, talent and evening gown competitions. Awards will be presented to those with top scores in these areas as well as Miss Personality, Miss Photogenic, the Kelly Smotzer Memorial Award, the Bryn Patton Smile Award, the Spirit Award and the Scholastic Achievement Award.
In addition to competition-based awards, several honors recognize contestants for their unique contributions and personal reflections. A Rain Maker Award will be presented to the contestant who collected the most sponsorships, and the John O’Hara Award will be given to the contestant who composes the best essay on what Rain Day means to them. The Remo C. Bertugli Memorial Award will also be presented, which is judged from essays submitted by the contestants on how a volunteering experience changed their life.
New this year is the Abby Ray Dedication to Service Award, sponsored by the Ray Family, for the candidate who presents the strongest service initiative and demonstrates the potential to make a meaningful impact within the community.
2025 Miss Rain Day Contestants

Isabella Walker
Isabella is the 14-year-old daughter of Tina and Paul Walker of Carmichaels. This fall she will be a freshman at PA Cyber School. She will be performing a dance.
“I want to be Miss Rain Day because I have always wanted to be in this position since I was younger. I would love the opportunity to be Miss Rain Day and am grateful for this opportunity.”

Sophie Batchelder
Sophie is the 14-year-old daughter of William and Xela Batchelder of Waynesburg. This fall she will be a freshman at Oxrose Online School. She will be performing a tap dance.
“I want to be Miss Rain Day because I want to serve my community, meet new people, and experience new challenges. Being Miss Rain Day is also a goal of mine that I can use to benefit my county which I love very much.”

Eilidh Batchelder
Eilidh is the 16-year-old daughter of William and Xela Batchelder of Waynesburg. This fall she will be a sophomore splitting her coursework between Greene County Career and Technical Center, Central Greene High School, Waynesburg University, and homeschool. She will be performing an acro dance.
“I want to be Miss Rain Day because of the opportunity to meet new people, and the experience of trying new things. It sounds very fun, especially helping raise money for a non-profit benefitting children.”

Camryn Hawfield
Camryn is the 17-year-old daughter of Tim and Betsy Hawfield of Waynesburg. This fall she will be a senior at Waynesburg Central High School. She will be performing a dance.
“I would like to be Miss Rain Day because I want to serve my community by being a role model for others, volunteering, and leading with determination and kindness!”

Abigail Yenchik
Abigail is the 16-year-old daughter of Becky Yenchik of Waynesburg. This fall she will be a junior at Waynesburg Central High School. She will be performing a sign language interpretation.
“I’d like to be Miss Rain Day to help bring the Waynesburg Community together, as well as promote my platform ‘Autism Strong’. It would also help me honor my father, who shared this dream with me.”

Meah Branham
Meah is the 16-year-old daughter of Kassie Branham of Bobtown. This fall she will be a senior at Mapletown High School. She will be performing a vocal selection.
“I want to be Miss Rain Day because it gives me an opportunity to be a voice for those who may feel unheard, and a chance to advocate for the causes I am most passionate about!”

Isabella Wise
Isabella is the 15-year-old daughter of Brian and Heather Wise of Mather. This fall she will be a sophomore at Jefferson Morgan High School. She will be performing a tap dance.
“I’ve wanted to be Miss Rain Day since I was three years old. I love giving back to my community, and becoming Miss Rain Day would have so many opportunities for me to give back.”

Kayle Lemley
Kayle is the 15-year-old daughter of Brian and Nichole Lemley of Carmichaels. This fall she will be a sophomore at Carmichaels High School. She will be performing a vocal selection.
“I would love to be Miss Rain Day 2025 because I would like to give back to my local community with multiple service opportunities and have many scholarship opportunities for myself and many others throughout the community as well.”

Sienna Stoneking
Sienna is the 15-year-old daughter of Amanda and Daniel Stoneking of Carmichaels. This fall she will be a sophomore at Carmichaels High School. She will be performing a dance.
“I want to have the pleasure of being Miss Rain Day so I can advocate for causes I care about. And be a role model for younger girls!”

Crown Bearer Stella Ray Dikun
Stella Ray Dikun is a bright and energetic 9-year-old, the cherished daughter of Kirsten and Matthew Blasinsky of Jefferson and Colton Dikun of Crucible. She is a proud big sister to her younger siblings, who adore her.
Stella attends Jefferson-Morgan Elementary School where she is known for her enthusiasm, kindness, and positive spirit. She enjoys dancing, cheering, swimming, riding her bike, reading, playing outside on the farm, and spending time with the family’s beloved dogs. One of her favorite places to be is in her Nana’s salon, where she charms the clients with her cheerful presence.
Stella has been fortunate enough to grow up with an incredible role model – Miss Rain Day, Bryn Lahew – who has inspired her in many ways. With a big heart and a love for helping others, Stella dreams of becoming a teacher when she grows up.
2024 Miss Rain Day Bryn Lahew

Bryn Lahew is the 18-year-old daughter of Chay Lahew and Michelle Shannon of Waynesburg. She is the younger sister of Dani Stockdale and the older sister of Beau Shannon.
Bryn is a recent graduate of Waynesburg Central High School and is grateful and thankful to have had the opportunity to serve her community as Miss Rain Day 2024. A proud Waynesburg Raider, Bryn was involved in many organizations. She was a member of the Alpha Beta Club and Leo Club. She was also the president of the Drama Club and Spanish Club.
Her commitment to school involvement extends beyond clubs and organizations. She served on the Cinderella Ball, Prom, and Homecoming Courts. She was honored to be crowned the 2024 Waynesburg Central High School Homecoming Queen. She has won math, chemistry, essay, and scholastic achievement awards and was enrolled in Advanced Placement and Honors classes while maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout her high school career.
In addition to her academic and leadership accomplishments, Bryn also excelled in athletics and performing arts. She is a 2-year varsity letterman and current cheer captain for the 2024-2025 cheer season. She was also involved in the school’s drama department. She performed in many plays and musicals at the high school, university, and local churches, including her most recent lead role Elle Woods in “Legally Blonde”.
She enjoyed dancing for 15 years. It has proven to be her love and has helped mold her into the person she is today. She has received training in all forms of dance, including tap, ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, ballroom, lyrical, contemporary, acro, hip hop, and musical theater. She was a member of her studio’s competition team for 9 years, winning many different dance awards, judges awards, costumes awards, and spirit awards while competing. Aside from her heavy dance schedule, Bryn enjoyed teaching the young dancers at the studio.
This fall, Bryn plans to attend Waynesburg University and major in Elementary Education with a minor in Business. After college, she hopes to teach in a local elementary school.
Bryn was honored to be chosen as this year’s Miss Rain Day. This has been a lifelong dream of hers. In addition to the MRD title, Bryn won the John O’Hara award, the Pageantry Spirit Award, Miss Photogenic Award, and tied for Sportswear and Top Evening Gown. As Miss Rain Day, she also was the recipient of the Waynesburg University Yellow Jacket Scholarship Award.
She has served her community well and has been a role model for all younger children. Aside from volunteering at local events, Bryn has done a wonderful job advocating and raising awareness for suicide prevention and mental health while working alongside Team Hope. In June, Bryn sponsored a Pickleball Tournament to raise money for Team Hope.
