Step Back in Time at Greene County's 55th Annual Harvest Festival
Fall is the perfect time to slow down, explore the countryside and experience a little history. On October 10 and 11, 2026, visitors can do all three at the 55th Annual Harvest Festival at the Greene County Historical Society Museum, a two-day celebration of history, heritage, food and family fun in southwestern Pennsylvania.
For more than five decades, the Harvest Festival has welcomed visitors to the museum’s historic grounds for a memorable weekend celebrating Greene County’s rural heritage. This year’s festival brings back many favorite attractions while adding new activities that give visitors even more reasons to spend the weekend exploring Greene County.
Among the most anticipated attractions are the Civil War reenactments and living history encampments. Throughout the weekend, reenactors recreate the sights, sounds and experiences of the Civil War era, offering visitors a glimpse into what life may have been like for soldiers and civilians during one of the most defining periods in American history.
History comes alive throughout the festival grounds with historic demonstrations, exhibits and tours. Visitors can explore the Greene County Historical Society Museum and its historic grounds while learning more about the people, industries and traditions that helped shape the region.
New This Year: Bingo in the Barn
There is something new to enjoy at this year’s festival, too. Bingo in the Barn makes its debut on Saturday, adding another opportunity for visitors to have some fun between exploring the historic grounds and enjoying the festival’s many demonstrations and activities.
And no fall festival is complete without something delicious to eat. What’s Smokin’ BBQ and Cow Patty Eats will be serving food during the weekend, giving visitors a chance to grab a bite while enjoying the festival.
Located at 918 Rolling Meadows Road, just three miles east of Waynesburg, the Greene County Historical Society Museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Festival visitors can explore the museum through self-guided tours and see historic treasures throughout the grounds, including the 1916 steam locomotive and 1892 passenger car from the Waynesburg & Washington Railroad.
